Ever decide to have a peaceful morning but the world doesn’t cooperate?

You open the window feel the breeze, sit down to meditate and the lawn guys arrive.

Or your upstairs neighbor became obsessed with HIT classes since quarantine and now jumps around promptly at 6 am and 10 pm every night.

Including weekends.

How do you keep a positive vibration in those annoying situations?

Well, friends, I have found a way to turn down that annoyance button and guide you back to your peace.

This is the pattern interrupt that I have started to use to ease my annoyances.

“May peace be with you.”

Those 5 words have brought me so much peace.

I have always believed what you put out you will get back.

I wish for peace. So, I put out peace.

It helps.

I found this awesome reaction during quarantine.

An injury had taken me back to Florida where I had been.

Having no time for my healing I thought it would be a good idea to have my own space.

In January 2020; I moved into the second floor of a 4-story building in a great community.

The first impression was noticing how quiet the building was; until lockdown.

I asked my apartment management team to ask my upstairs neighbor to respect the quiet time hours of 10 pm -10 am that the team invoked for quarantine.

The neighbor complied only during those hours of silence.

I admired her dedication to exercising.

Yet, it still bugged me. Now, for some context (I was and still am) recovering from injury. So, I was in pain a lot (less now, thankfully). And, well, the pain has a way of really cranking up that irritability vibe.

I wanted peace.

So that is what I gave.

I wanted to attract more peace into my life, so started sending more peace out into the world.

Every person I saw out my window; I whispered to them. “May peace be with you.”

I started doing this every time I heard my neighbor jumping around.

It works.

My upstairs neighbor still does jump around all the time yet, it doesn’t bother me.

My mindset has gone from being so annoyed to thinking; “that is just apartment living”.

Keep in mind, it did take me some time to get to this place.

The effort was worth it.

I have noticed that I reside more in a peaceful state.

Feels good.

Play this little game the next time you start to get annoyed with someone or a situation.

Instead of letting the irritancy grow; wish peace upon that person.

For if the world is a reflection of your thoughts, don’t you want a reflection of peace?

You can never change other people.

Yet, you can change your perception.

Thank you for letting me share.

Be kind. Be well. Smile.
