Let’s Sing!

The thing about singing is…

It’s just fabulous.

“He who sings scares away his woes.” – Miguel De Cervantes

Regardless, if you can carry a tune or be horrific at the tone, doesn’t matter.

Singing is sweet relief for every single human.

Every single religion at its core has sung in its practice.

Crazy right.

Singing is a common denominator in all organized religions.

Plus!

There are health benefits to singing.

  • Helps with Dementia.

A study found that a lot of the subjects enjoyed remembering lyrics.

  • Improves speaking abilities with those diagnosed with stuttering.
  • Known to improve mood
  • Great stress relief

I use singing as an outlet for emotions.

When I am feeling defensive; I belt out the ‘Zombie’ by The Cranberries or ‘You outta know’ by Alanis Morissette.

When I am done.

I am lighter.

Endorphins will be released while singing.

That is why singing may aid in a longer life on Earth.

Two prestigious Universities did a study on a choir group.

The findings were that it helped with mental health.

Plus, it led to a healthier lifestyle.

Singing is also a benefit of seeing the perspective of another culture.

We can become more empathetic while understanding the lyrics of another.

Want to get a group to come together.

Start playing a song.

I bet if you start playing Neil Diamond’s ‘Sweet Caroline’ at an oceanside restaurant in the Northeast of the US; 98% of the patrons and staff will sing along.

There is beauty in the harmony as voices become one voice.

So, the next time you want to let go put on your favorite tune.

Then belt it out.

Go for it!

Play that tune that reminds you of ‘YOUR ALIVE’.

Thank you for letting me share.

Be kind. Be well. Smile!!!
